8 Hour Annual In-service Training Course for Security Guards

This is an 8-hour course that must be completed within 12 calendar months from completion of the 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards, and annually thereafter. The course is structured to provide the candidate with updated and enhanced information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, and ethics and conduct.

47 Hour Firearms Training Course for Armed Security Guards

This is a basic course which is designed according to the New York State Armed Guard Mandatory 47 hour Firearms Training as required by the NYS Dept. of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). We teach all NYS basic requirements, theoretically, then on the range (for those with NYS/NYC Pistol Permits). This course is an excellent introduction to firearms for the first time shooter. Classroom instruction includes firearm safety for revolvers, semi-autos, and long arms, basic fundamentals, nomenclature, use of physical force/deadly force, and a written test. Range sessions include basic shooting exercises, advanced accuracy exercises, barricades, dim light shooting, reloading, and a proficiency test. A NYS-approved certificate is issued upon successful completion of the 47-hour course.

16 Hour On-the- Job Training

This is a 16-hour course that must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard. The course trains the candidates through detailed information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. You will get a chance to learn the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, ethics and conduct, incident command system, and terrorism.

8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training

An 8-hour course, mandatory for all candidates seeking a security guard registration card from the New York State Department. Individuals can learn what a security guard should do, what legal powers and limitations a security guard has, how to communicate, public relations, access control, and ethics and conduct.

8 Hour Annual Firearms Training

This course is designed by the NY State Division of Criminal Justice, Security Guard Program. Armed Guards must complete this course annually. It includes 3 hours of classroom refresher on the Use of Force followed by a written examination and 5 hours of weapons qualification which includes a proficiency examination. Two examinations are required for successful completion of the 8-hour Annual Firearms Training Course for Armed Security Guards. Students must pass the written Use of Force/Deadly Physical Force Examination. Fire one qualifying course of fire with either a duty-type semi-automatic pistol or a duty-type revolver. Students currently employed as armed security guards must train and qualify with the handgun(s) they are authorized to carry in the performance of their duties utilizing service/duty ammunition.

MOAB Full Day

Well this is a full day course that include more than just de-escalation skills. The course will let you learn hands-on strategies to manage aggressive behavior through modern techniques and various principles including resistive escorts, guns defensive tactics, defensive tactics for edged weapons and choke holds.

SORA 24 Hour Security Guard Training

As an on-contract security professional in New Jersey, you must enroll in SORA (Security Official Registration Act) training. For the SORA security guard training course, you must follow three steps within 30 days: first register with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP), then complete a 24-hour SORA training program with a New Jersey State Police certified instructor and register your fingerprint for identification.

SORA Renewal

One must re-register yourself and complete essential training to maintain your license as a security officer every two years in New Jersey.  We will help you go through this submission of the renewal application before the expiration date. Just keep in mind that your SORA certification is valid for two years, and to renew it, you must apply to the New Jersey State Police as a Returning Applicant.
